Shirley Plantation
8.2004
Shirley, settled in 1613, is the oldest plantation in Virginia and the oldest family-owned business in North America, dating back to 1638.
Design 3 was retained by Shirley to develop interpretive signage to guide visitors throughout the site.
Each sign features a particular point of interest and describes its significance to the plantation. Design 3 designed, managed fabricating, and installed the signage.
In the summer of 2004, shirley instituted an archaeology program to uncover even more of it's valuable stories.
Design 3 designed and oversaw the fabrication of the exhibit case to display artifact found on the plantation.
